Abstract
This article employs a newly devised analytical tool called a “sound map” to recreate the sound signature within a passage from an ancient Greek text (Romans 4:9-12). It then uses the map as an interpretive tool to uncover the intended meaning of the passage. Beyond seeking to resolve an interpretive problem within the passage itself, the paper further discusses the technique of sound mapping, a method of interpretation that can be employed on any ancient text more generally.
